CSA Shares
Would you like an opportunity to keep some of your food dollars in your local community? By joining the Art Farm CSA you are supporting a farmer with 25 plus years of experience in organic growing and listening to customer feed back. Your membership also contributes to the hiring and training of local youth every summer.
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares give you a direct connection to the local farm where your vegetables are grown and with the farmer who grows them. Our CSA ensures that you have fresh, delicious, organic produce all summer.By buying shares of the future harvest early in the year, you allow us to purchase the seeds and start to hire workers needed in the spring. Shareholders thus agree to share the risks as well as the bounty of the harvest, allowing farmers to focus on growing.
Once the season begins, usually by mid-June, we harvest fresh vegetables for you to enjoy each week, running 19 weeks, depending on the seasons’ weather.
The weekly selection of produce is done by the farmer, not the shareholder, however we aim at growing a wide enough variety of vegetables to satisfy everyones’ taste. Occasionally there will be a “Bounty Table” to add to your weekly share.
The bonus about Art Farm pick up is the freshness- the produce is literally sorted 1 hour before pick-up and stored in the very cool stable. Packaging is minimized as well. All the organic egg production from the farm goes into the CSA bags. Our Community Shared boxes are a Wednesday farm pick-up only, sorry we cannot offer delivery.
We are currently taking names for the 2024 CSA. Our group is fairly small, to ensure there is plenty to go around; please contact us early. We have 2 categories:
- Full share- (for a family or 2 vegetarian eaters) $700.00
- Half Share -(for 2 people) $400.00
Payment can be divided in 2 parts, with the first half being due with registration, or by April 15, and the second instalment half way through he summer.
